Shipping Day Checklist
Everything on this page happens the day the truck arrives — not the week before. A car photographed clean on shipping morning is the difference between a paid claim and an argument.

Before the truck arrives
- Wash the car the morning of pickup. Dirt hides exactly the marks a claim depends on.
- Photograph the car in daylight: front, back, both sides, roof, wheels, and any existing chip or scratch up close.
- Include a timestamp in the photos, or shoot with a phone that records one.
- Fuel to a quarter tank or less. Charge the battery. Fix active leaks or disclose them.
- Fold in mirrors, remove or lower antennas, retract spoilers, disable alarms and toll transponders.
- Remove the garage remote and any gate clicker.
Step 2
When the driver is in front of you
- Photograph the carrier's truck.
- Photograph the side of the cab showing the DOT number.
- Photograph the truck's license plate.
- Ask to see the driver's license and photograph or note it.
- Confirm the DOT number matches the carrier named on your dispatch paperwork.
- Walk the car with the driver and make sure every existing mark is on the Bill of Lading diagram.
Step 3
At delivery
- Inspect in daylight, or bring a strong flashlight and take your time. Do not sign a clean BOL in the dark.
- Compare against your pickup photos before signing anything.
- Note any new damage on the delivery BOL in writing, with the driver present, and photograph it.
- Keep your signed copy. Claims are filed with the carrier and the BOL is the evidence.
Step 4
Every move, without exception
- Turn off, bag or remove your toll transponder — SunPass, E-ZPass, I-PASS. We are not responsible for tolls incurred in transit.
- Personal items: 100 lbs maximum, trunk or below the window line, at your own risk. They are not covered by cargo insurance.
- Remove toll tags, garage remotes, EZ passes, parking permits and anything else that transmits or opens a gate.
