How to Inspect Your Vehicle at Pickup and Delivery
The inspection takes ten minutes and it is the only part of the process that protects you. Do it properly at both ends, in daylight, before you sign.

- Wash the car first — you cannot document paint condition through road film.
- Photograph all four sides, the roof, the wheels, the glass and any existing damage, with a timestamp.
- Photograph the odometer.
- Confirm the driver's condition report matches what you see before signing.
At delivery
- Walk the full exterior in daylight before signing anything. If the truck arrives after dark, use a flashlight and take your time — or note on the paperwork that a full inspection was not possible in the conditions.
- Check the roof and the lower panels; those are where transport damage tends to be missed.
- Confirm the odometer is roughly where it should be.
- Start the engine and check that everything works before the driver leaves.
If you find something
Write it on the bill of lading before you sign, and photograph it immediately. A signed clean bill of lading is very hard to walk back afterwards. Report it to the carrier the same day.
A Naples-specific note
If a car has sat in a Naples garage all season, do the same inspection at spring pickup. Humidity, batteries and tire pressure are the usual surprises, and a vehicle that will not start changes what equipment the carrier needs.
