When Should I Ship My Car Home From Naples in the Spring?
The spring return is more compressed than the fall migration. A very large share of Naples seasonal residents leave within a six-week band, and that concentration is what makes April the hardest month of the year to book a northbound truck out of Southwest Florida.

- March — the earliest wave, mostly households with school-year commitments or early spring plans. Generally the easiest northbound month to schedule.
- April — peak. Everyone leaves at once, and northbound capacity out of Naples tightens noticeably.
- May — the tail, heavily weighted toward the Upper Midwest and northern New England, where people wait out the last cold.
Why northbound is different from southbound
In the fall, the problem is finding a truck that will come to your northern town. In the spring, the problem is the opposite: a very high volume of vehicles all want to leave the same small stretch of Southwest Florida in the same few weeks.
That is why the northbound and southbound pictures rarely look the same even on the identical route.
Book before the departure crush
If you know you are leaving in April, arranging transport in February or early March gives you a meaningfully better range of options than calling the week before you fly.
Prepare the car before pickup
A vehicle that has sat in a Naples garage since December may not start. Check the battery, tire pressure and fuel a week before pickup — a non-running vehicle needs different equipment and different handling.
