Illinois returns start earlier than the Upper Midwest — plenty of Chicago snowbirds head back in late March and April rather than May.
April is the crunch. Every Naples household with a northern address is trying to leave in the same three weeks, and northbound capacity out of Southwest Florida does not expand to meet it. March departures and second-week-of-May departures both cost less and book more easily.
The return begins with Easter- and spring-break-driven departures; northbound rates start climbing.
Peak northbound. This is the busiest month of the entire Naples calendar for outbound vehicles — book three to four weeks ahead.
The tail of the season. Capacity loosens after the first week and rates fall quickly.
Off-season. Anyone still shipping north gets the year's best northbound pricing.
Naples pickup from a gated community
Most Naples communities are gated. Manned gates need your name on the guest list or a call from the gatehouse; unmanned gates need a code or a resident to open them. A driver who arrives without either will wait at the gate and, if it takes long enough, will unload at the nearest legal staging point instead.
Many Naples HOAs restrict commercial vehicles on interior streets, and several enforce delivery windows. Checking your association's rule before booking prevents the most common Naples delivery problem there is.
