Coordinating Your Car Shipment With Your Flight to Naples
The mistake is treating a car shipment like a flight — a scheduled arrival you can build a day around. It is a road move with real-world variables, so the goal is to build a plan that survives being a day or two off.

Most Naples seasonal residents fly into Southwest Florida International (RSW) in Fort Myers, roughly 35 to 45 minutes north of Naples depending on season traffic. Naples Municipal (APF) serves private and limited commercial traffic. Punta Gorda (PGD) and Miami (MIA) are also used, though MIA means a two-hour drive across Alligator Alley.
The plan that works
- Have the car delivered before you arrive, with an authorized person receiving it.
- Or arrive first, get settled, and take delivery a day or two later with a rental or ride-share covering the gap.
The plan that doesn't
Landing at RSW at noon and expecting to meet a carrier at 2pm at your gate. One traffic incident on I-75, one delayed offload in Tampa, and the whole day falls apart.
Give the dispatcher your flight information anyway
It genuinely helps with sequencing even though it cannot control the outcome. If a driver has two Naples deliveries and knows one owner lands Tuesday, that shapes the order.
